Quang Binh has Son Doong, the biggest cave in the world, and the national park was recognized, not once, but twice, but UNESCO, for geological and biodiversity values.

Let’s gradually explore layers of its nature, starting with its cave systems. Quang Binh has 400 caves that belong to 3 big cave systems. Each one has a specific length, types of fauna and flora, and each inspires different feelings.

PARADISE CAVE

Paradise Cave (động thiên đường) is a cave with a grand name - and perhaps it lives up to that, thanks to its size and beauty.

The cave was discovered in 2005 and opened to the public in 2010. It is the longest dry cave in Asia, with a length of 31,4km, width of 30-100m, and height of 60-80 meter, coming to Paradise Cave is getting lost in its own world - with thousands of pretty stalactites and stalagmites in all forms and shapes, formed since 350 million years.

DARK CAVE & CHAY RIVER

Dark Cave - Chay river is a complex that blends the thrill of adventure with the tranquility of nature. Its beauty is enriched with the biodiversity of fauna, flora and animals. There are many endemic animals here, including many types of fish such as: catfish, grass carps, and carps.

Dark Cave was discovered in 1990 and opened to travelers in 2011. The cave is 6000 m long, 80m high, and can instill a sense of thrill and mystery since it is a wet cave without a light system yet, so when you go inside, you can gradually explore on your own.

Meanwhile, Chay river is 10km, a really beautiful, tranquil river with lots of trees surrounding it. Coming here, you can try a zipline, kayak on the river.

VA CAVE

Va Cave was discovered in 1992, and officially measured in 2002. The cave is 2,2km long and has a history of about 2 million years.

The cave is located at the core of Phong Nha - Ke Bang national park and has a system of striking cone-shaped stalactites. When you come here you can experience 2 days-1 night camping trips.

TU LAN CAVE

Tu Lan cave was discovered in 1994 and recently opened to travelers. It has its own ecosystem of typography and landscapes, with jungles, karst mountains, rivers, and streams: 1 km underground river, 14 km trekking routes, and 4km cave route.

The whole area was formed by karst mountain that dates back to 350 million to 450 million years old. Combined with a dense system of rivers, Tu Lan gives a feel of adventure, mystery and refreshingness. When you come here, you can join 3D2N trips, camp next to streams, under the stars, trek in mountains, and swim in many rivers flowing inside an intricate system of caves.

Altogether, this is a blend of adventure and calmness.

SON RIVER

Originating from the start of Phong Nha cave, Son river is 7729m long, and flows along peaceful villages, next to lovely corn fields and rice fields of Quang Binh.

The river is calm, clear, and big. Together with surrounding landscapes, it gives a soothing effect when we have the chance to get on a boat to explore the river, or simply admire the river from the side.

When we come here, other than exploring the river, we can also visit adjacent villages - the places with  traditions of fishing, wine making, conical hat making. There is also an ancient house named Gia Hung that dates back to more than 100 years old.

SON DOONG CAVE

Son Doong cave is the biggest cave in the world by volume, and the most magnificent in the cave system in Quang Binh.

To have an impression on how big the cave is, imagine this: a helicopter can fly in it. It has its own ecosystem of forests, rivers, streams, fauna, flora, and various stalactites, stalagmites, and cave pearls formed over millions of years.

Son Doong was formed during the Cambrian-Permian geological ages, which is about 450 million years ago. The cave was formed by water that dripped down from a rainforest above.

Its sheer size and its sublime beauty makes Son Doong great for adventure and educational purposes. To remain its sustainability, the cave is only open to a limited number of travelers each year.
